The Great Inception
A hundred and a hundred and a hundred years ago, The Three-Headed Dragon landed in the middle of the Unending Sea. Where she landed, her great talons dug at the earth and thrust up the great peaks of the Wyvern Mountains. Thus was born the Island of Gerydon.
With each of her great heads, she breathed a most powerful shock of fire, so hot that it turned the very water to rock. And thus were born the three islands: Auxesia, Phenna and Cleta.
Mother Dragon was lonely. So from her terrible tongue, she dripped four drops of perfect blood, and from these formed the Four Blessed Children: Agyn, a son, and three daughters, who were named Eyara, Brodhidya and Drosdryea. Maiden Dragon wept to see them so alone, these four, and so small upon so great a land. So Mother Dragon took the tears of the Maiden and formed a retinue to serve the Blessed Four.
Their creations were happy and hale, but mindless, like beasts who had no sense in their heads. Crone Dragon granted them awareness and freedom of will, but with it, a capacity for darkness as well as light.
Feeling that she had no more to give to these, her children, the Triform took herself beyond the veil, so that she might watch over from afar.
For many years, the Children and their Retinue were happy. but as time passed, the Three Sisters began to quarrel, unable to agree on how things should be done. As their rift grew, Brother pleaded with them, "Sisters! Please! Make your peace!" but the Sisters could not and would not.
In time, there came a great war between the Sisters, so great was their wrath. As their people lay dead and dying, Brother once more pleaded for peace. "There are four islands," he said, "And there are four of us. Each of us shall have an island for her own then, if we cannot agree!"
The Sisters saw that this was wise, and gathered each her retinue to an island, leaving the Island of Gerydon, and those who remained, to their Brother's care.
And so it has passed for generations, the three Sister Islands and the fourth Island of Gerydon.
