The Draganic Faith
The Draganic Faith is the primary faith of Sedera and one through which society is shaped. Adherents of the Draganic Faith believe primarily that their Empire was formed by The Three-Headed Dragon, a massive, magical creature who lives 'beyond the veil' of this world, and whose blood runs through the veins of nobility.
The Draganic Faith works hand-in-glove with Sedera's nobility, for it is believed that the Three-Headed Dragon created the Four Blessed Children of Sedera, who founded the island atoll.
Bloodlines are sacrosanct in the Draganic Faith, which is one of the reasons why the laws of succession run entirely through the matrilineal line: children are birthed from their mother, and so there is no doubt that they share her blood, whereas the father's bloodline may be in question.
It is believed that our world is sandwiched between lightness above and darkness below. The veil separates us from lightness, while the edifice holds us back from the darkness below.
The core tenet of the Draganic Faith is that of balance -- that there needs to be darkness in order for their to be light. Too much of either and our world would be lost.
