Draganic Altars

Worship in the Draganic Faith is a very personal thing, done individually at altars. The altars themselves can be large or small, and some of the particularly devoted even take to carrying a small chip of an altar around on themselves usually in the form of a necklace or other jewellery. What makes an altar sacred is that it is carved from the obsidian of the Draganic Mountain, which lies on the eastern shore of the Firerun River, outside the City of Ptah.

Household Altars

Pretty much every single household, rich or poor, will keep their own altar, usually in some space of prominence. In poorer households, this might just be a simple lump of polished obsidian surrounded by plants and handmade decorations. In the palaces of the nobility, the altar might occupy an entire room, with a massive obsidian pillar decorated with gold, silver and the finest gems.

Royal Altars

Each of the four Royal houses keep a Royal Altar in their capital cities. These are akin to our churches -- entire buildings designed to hold a massive obsidian altar, with space for many people to visit and many rooms built off the altar, set aside for specific uses. As well as a place for worship, these are used as meeting spaces for the community, and a safe place to go. Kept open day and night, and guarded by knights, they are open to all who wish to use them in the spirit in which they were intended (i.e. don't cause trouble).

Personal Altars

As mentioned above, some of the devout like to wear small, personal altars made of chips of obsidian and usually worn as necklaces or jewellery.

Worship at Altars

Worshipping at an altar is almost like a form of meditation. A person places hands on the altar (or places the altar in their hands, depending on its size), and tries to hold one singular though in their mind, on which they want guidance. They wait then for an epiphany, insight, sign or vision that will reveal some greater truth on the matter.
