Royal Gate

Once a quiet back gate, this has, since the Upheaval, become the main gate of the walled city of Ptah, capital of the Empire. Thick, high, sheer stone walls stretch above the arched entry, which can be barred by a dropped iron gate -- although it is always left open in times of peace.

While great care has been taken in widening the entry arch, it is clear that some parts of the facade are newer than others. The road here has likewise been widened by several feet, now wide enough to allow two carts to easily pass one another.
