Muckie Camp

The Muckie settlement, located along Sweetmeadow Road East, consists of propped-up huts and tents, encapsulated in a seemingly perpetual cloud of dust, smoke, and dirt. Cycling populations of Muckies live amidst their belongings, with their faces and clothes caked in filth from their daily routines. Various items, like castoff chairs or discarded bottles, lay strewn across the ground.

The heavy humidity and lack of running water only exacerbate the lack of hygiene, yet the people here form a tight-knit community and co-exist in a shared space, united by their collective experience of ostracization and resulting hardship.
