Dryea

From a young age, Dryea was aware that her uncle, King Mattan, was greatly displeased by her birth. Her mother sent her to be fostered in Chabia, where her father's people were from. Life there was pleasant enough, except for the occasions King Mattan would summon her home just to discover and point out her many, many flaws.

Since the flood, King Mattan has demanded that she stay at his Court, where he can "keep an eye on her." Life has become immeasurably unpleasant, and she is frequently looking for excuses to slip away from his scrutinizing eye.
